Do you have an old instrument collecting dust in your home, or fancy taking up playing again? Then the Dust It Off Orchestra could be just what you’re looking for.

The Dust It Off Orchestras (DIOs) are daytime music groups for people who have plenty of free time during the day but are unable to commit to or attend evening rehearsals with other groups. It is aimed at adult players of strings, woodwind and brass instruments who are, perhaps, looking to return to playing after a period of time away from their instrument, or who are currently playing and would just like to play in a daytime group. There are no auditions; it’s open to everyone.

There are DIOs in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Norwich and Bury St Edmunds,

meeting usually fortnightly. Rehearsals are during school term time only.

The music is quite light as each DIO is as inclusive as possible. Rehearsals are conducted in a positive and encouraging environment to provide a safe space for people to play and not worry about making mistakes! There are no plans to perform in public; the DIOs are purely rehearsal groups, to encourage people to play and make music together. There are no limits on numbers.
